Vulkaneifel II: Swimming in a volcano (26 km hike)

Second hike of a series exploring the volcanic craters within the Vulkaneifel Geopark.
Our magnificent snowy first expedition took place in the middle of the Winter and the volcanic lakes were completely frozen.
This time we will start from Gillenfeld to visit the Dürres Maar, the Holzmaar, the Strohn lava pit, the Immerather Maar, the Römerberg and the Pulvermaar.
Those wishing to do so should be able to go for a well deserved splash in the volcanic lake of Pulvermaar towards the end of the hike.
A very flat one, as you can see from the 2D and 3D elevation profiles.
